Neurologist with expertise in Spasticity Management and Movement Disorders
Dr. Karen Kerman is neurologist with expertise in spasticity management and movement disorders in both children and adults. She obtained her BA with Honors in Neuroscience from Brown University in Providence, RI, and her MD from the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Kerman then completed her Pediatrics training at Boston City Hospital, followed by a residency in Child Neurology and a fellowship in neurophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University.
Dr. Kerman specializes in the use of botulinum toxin for neurologic disorders in children and adults, including for migraine, dystonia, and cerebral palsy. She is a pioneer in developing the use of botulinum toxin for spasticity management and other disorders. She is currently an Instructor at Harvard University and a staff physician at Boston Children’s Hospital. She was head of pediatric neurorehabilitation at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence RI and associate professor at Warren Alpert Medical School, Brown University.
Dr. Kerman is now seeing patients at the Neurology Center of New England.
